1960, BOSTON

Two days, ten minutes, after my release

From a California sanitarium, back

In Boston, Cerletti-shocked and semi-sane,

I received, above Longfellow's bridge, across

The sky, up toward MIT, jewel-bedecked

And evergreen, a TV close-up Cowboy.

Six years

It took me to compose myself in poetry.
